Lauri Welch is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Lauri was employed in primary care for over 10 years before joining Greater Lowell Gastroenterology in 2004.  Lauri received her Bachelors degree in Nursing from the University of Lowell and a Master of Nursing with a focus on Family and Community Nursing and her PhD in Nursing and Health Promotion from the University of Massachusetts Lowell.  Lauri works closely with the other members of the GI practice managing all aspects of GI care with a focused interest on Liver disease. Lauri works in collaboration with the physician at Greater Lowell GI, assessing and treating those with liver related issues including Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C.  She is member of the Nursing honors society, Sigma Theta Tau- Eta Omega chapter as well as a member of the Merrimack Valley Nurse Practitioner Chapter of the Massachusetts Coalition of Nurse Practitioners. Lauri Serves as an Nursing Advisory Board Member at the University of Massachusetts Lowell and is an active mentor and preceptor to Nurse practitioner students.
