Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center
Personalized treatment of Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn’s Disease
Inflammatory Bowel Disease
Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is an umbrella term used to describe disorders that involve chronic inflammation of your digestive tract, such as Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn’s Disease. Both are life-long conditions, but have many effective treatment options. At IGIC, we are here to provide you with a personalized care plan including discussion about all your treatment options, nutrition counseling, endoscopic procedures, and administration of IV medications in the office if needed.
Comprehensive, Personalized Care
Our Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Center offers comprehensive, patient-focused, personalized care. At your first visit, you will meet with one of our gastroenterologists or nurse practitioners to discuss your symptoms and review your medical history. Your clinician may then order blood work, imaging tests and/or endoscopic tests such as a colonoscopy or upper endoscopy, which can all be done locally. Your results will be discussed with you by one of our specialists trained in management of IBD, including reviewing all the available treatment options for your condition.
Our team also includes a GI nutritionist and pelvic floor physical therapists who can help with issues such as perianal disease, fistulas, urgency, and incontinence. Our IBD nurse will help you manage your medications, including administration of IV or injection medications in the office if needed. Together, we’ll develop a treatment plan that is safe, effective, and tailored to your medical needs.
Infusion Center
We have an infusion center on-site where our IBD nurse administers medications for inflammatory bowel disease such as infliximab (Remicade, Inflectra), vedolizumab (Entyvio), ustekinumab (Stelara), risankizumab (Skyrizi), and others. We also do IV iron infusions for patients who have iron deficiency (low iron). We have a clinician and nurse monitoring infusions at all times. Our team also handles any insurance issues related to your medications to make sure you receive them on time at minimal cost.
Nutrition & Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy
Nutrition and physical therapy are also important aspects to management of IBD. At our IBD center, we work closely with our GI-trained nutritionist and pelvic floor physical therapists to guide patients on inflammation-reducing foods, maintaining adequate nutrition, and physical therapy for patients with urgency, incontinence, or perianal disease such as fistulas.
